To build inspiring and young entrepreneurs, and to provide mentorship and training in the community. Our firm is built on integrity and strong faith; it is built on unmatched creativity and unparallel unique thinking. The business name is solely derived from Deuteronomy 28:13, which says: The Lord will make you the head and not the tail, Above Only and never beneath. This is a constant reminder to put our best efforts forward at all time and provide services with excellence.

De'Angelo Smith Sr.; President & Business Entrepreneur
DeAngelo Smith founded Above Only Consultants LLC in June of 2018 to empower other business-like minded individuals, encourage entrepreneurship, and mentor young adults to provide them with a bright future. Mr. Smith has been a barber since the age of 14. He attended and graduated from Michigan Barber School in 2003 and soon after became a licensed barber. He has amassed many accomplishments and now manages one of the most upscale and prestigious Barbershops in Detroit, MI. Mr. Smith is the ultimate Businessman and stands for integrity. In 2019 De’Angelo became one of 19 Licensed Instructors in the State of Michigan. He also sits on the Board of Barber Examiners and helps oversees policies and procedures throughout Michigan. Mr. Smith now sits as the Chairman of the State of Michigan Barbers Examination Board and has been nominated amongst his peers for the third time.
Tyahvia Smith; Vice President/ Certified Master Life Coach
Tyahvia Smith co-founded this company alongside her husband. She has made it her life’s motto to achieve and provide excellence in all she does. Tyahvia graduated from Michigan State University in 2005 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a specialization in Law Enforcement Intelligence Operations. In 2016 Tyahvia gained a job working for the City of Detroit in various clerical roles. She has obtained knowledge from the City Tax Assessors Office to the City Clerk’s office and the Operational Taskforce personally appointed by the Chief of Police. During the COVID-19 Pandemic Tyahvia decided to complete her coursework to obtain two Life Coaching Certifications. She is a Certified Life Coach and a Certified Master Life Coach. Tyahvia has been in the administrative field for over 15 years and has a wealth of knowledge gained through Corporate America. Mrs. Smith is the founder of My Crown his Glory and More Than Rubies Movement that encourages growth in young girls and women by empowering them to see their worth and value through their eyes.
